About this event
Friday July 25 to Saturday the 26th OR Sunday the 27th
This is a member and their guest only drive and is limited to 10 cars (possibly larger). It is an overnight event and can be 1 or 2 nights depending on what you want and the ferry schedules. You are responsible to get yourself to Campbell River on Friday night, as we leave Saturday morning. (Members on the Island may want to meet us Saturday morning in Campbell River)
Time to mark your calendar, register via Motorsports Reg and book your hotel room for this exciting new club drive.
To participate please:
- Register for the event
- Book your hotel room at the waterfront Ramada by Wyndham Campbell River by June 27, 2025 . We have blocked 10 rooms and negotiated a group rate of $270 CAD/night double occupancy plus taxes for this hotel. Breakfast is included in the price. Since this is the high season prices are high and booking must be done by June 27th. Don't delay. To make a reservation within the group block call the hotel direct at 250-923-4231. Tell the front desk agent that you want to make a reservation for a room with the BMW Car Club of BC group.
- Make reservations on BC ferries asap, as summer crossings fill up fast. We will not be meeting at the ferry terminal.
Group members may cancel hotel reservations no later than 1 week before day of arrival.
We suggest you take the ferry to Nanaimo so that your driving route is slightly shorter the first night. Club members may meet up Friday night for a short get together with final details of the trip at the hotel.
The leisurely drive, Saturday morning, will take us from Campbell River to Gold River with short walking stops along the way for waterfall sightings. After lunch in Gold River (TBD) we will head back to the hotel in Campbell River for a club dinner (TBD). Some may want to head home at this point. (organize your own ferry travel in advance). If you are choosing to stay the night, then on Sunday we will take the older Hwy 19A along the coast to the Victoria area. The club has arranged for a free tour of Macaloney's Island Distillery & TWA Dogs Brewery home of the 2025 Canadian Whisky of the Year, and 2024 World's Best Pot-still whisky, in the Victoria area. After that club members are free to visit Victoria, Sidney or make their way back to Vancouver from the Swartz Bay Ferry terminal on their own.
If there is a lot of interest early the hotel may hold more rooms for us.
More details to follow after signing up for the tour.
